Attention! From July 2011 till December 2012 Laima Chocolate Room is under construction.
In order to introduce people with history of legendary sweets production company Laima and traditions of chocolate production, at the end of 2005 the museum Chocolate Room was opened on Laima's premises at Miera street 22, Riga. There, alongside with many vintage chocolate wrappings, one can watch a documentary shot in 1924, about the company activity; one of first Latvian-made bitter chocolates in its original packaging; export registry from 1930s with hand-made remarks on consignments to New York, Stockholm, Haifa and elsewhere.
In summer of 2008 several historically exclusive exhibits have been added to the exposition of the Chocolate room. Now it is possible to see a unique, more than 100 years old chocolate doll, which is quite probably the oldest object of its kind in the region.
While visiting the Chocolate room, visitors can actively participate in the cognitive process by watching a historical film about the beginning of chocolate production in Latvia and get to know the chocolate production process in the Laima's production unit.
We can assure you: you will get answers to all your questions from a chocolate expert during the tour. And of course you will be able not only to see but also to taste the candies.
