Development plan 2012 for NP Foods – food business management and development, food product sale and logistics services company, which ensures unified management and development in the following Latvia-based companies: AS Laima, AS Staburadze, AS Gutta, SIA Staburadzes Konditoreja as well as SIA Saldumu Tirdznieciba, was approved. In recent years, when the state underwent economic downturn, a foundation for new development level was created by investing in new technologies and new product development and by introducing strict efficiency-boosting measures.

AS Laima expands manufacturing of exclusive products. New exclusive products are offered in Latvia in anticipation of Christmas Day. AS Laima is planning to increase the number of staff in this production plant four-fold due to the growing demand.

AS Laima is launching its project Chocolate House. It is aimed at preserving and developing Latvian industrial heritage by ensuring a cultural offer outside the Riga city center. In order to achieve this aim a cultural monument of local significance – a building on Miera Street designed in 1939 by Architect S. Borbals for the pride of Latvian national confectionery production Laima – will be renovated.
